To let prospective customers refrain from buying Huawei mobile phones because they are disposable.

On September 22, 2018 I visited City Light at SM San Lazaro Manila, the authorized service center of Huawei to have my Huawei mobile phone serviced for the first time since I bought it sometime in 2018. I had my handwritten complaint of my mobile phone handed to the attending personnel for the repairman's guide. Just last Oct 2, 2021, I received a text message from City Light informing me that they had checked it but found out that it was the "end of life" my mobile phone and no available parts to replace. This afternoon I visited City Light to collect my unrepaired phone to get back my celphone. My God the staff attending me had no orientation, She could not find my celphone despite that she was handling the customer's copy of receipt issued to me on Sept 22. It took more than an hour for me to wait when another staff helped her to find my celphone in their messy cupboard/storage. My complaints in details: 1. How come that my mobile phone has an "end life" as termed by your repairman/service engineer when 3 years had passed since I purchased the unit hasn't been too long, therefore, your product is DISPOSABLE plus the fact that minor parts are not available. Why can't you be honest with yourselves, why do you fool customers. 2. Replace employees of City Light SM San Lazaro, Manila. They know nothing when it is very easy to trace where to locate the item based on the number as shown in the duplicate copy of the customer. You do not have thorough training and orientation of your employees in the service center. 3. Huawei must be sold in the Philippines and must be returned to China. Dr. Beligardo E. Resolved: Terrible Customer Support

Updated by user Sep 07, 2020

they replaced my broken screen with a clause saying no warranty on the new screen, not even if it has issues within 1 minute after the repair. I agreed..

Updated by user Sep 07, 2020

I received a call a few days after writing this review from Huawei Customer Service. I also wrote on their FB pages (global and Thailand pages) and made a complaint on both my twitter and fb account as well as emailing their customer support for Thailand and global. I...

Original review Aug 05, 2020
Around 3 months ago, I dropped my phone and the screen broke, I replaced the screen for around 7800 Baht (roughly US$250)
My phone is a Huawei P20 Pro. I love the camera, and it felt worth replacing the screen (even at that high price), because the camera is worth it.
Since replacing the screen, I have treated my phone like a goddess.

There is no scratch on this phone. Imagine my shock when to see this weird ink blot / bleeding on my phone screen. In the image you see, this ink blot/bleed is coming from within my phone.
On Monday August 3rd 2020, I called up Huawei customer service in Thailand, who advised me to go back to Srifuengfoong building and have it replaced as there was only 1 day left on my 90 day warranty. I was quite thankful for that.
Tuesday, August 4th 2020, I go to Huawei's Srifuengfoong building, the customer service repairperson, without even touching my phone, claimed I dropped it.

When I challenged them to find any crack on it, they kept quiet and said "the ink blot/bleed is not within the parameters of your warranty." I said cracked screen is not part of my warranty, ink blot/ink bleed there is nothing about it.
Then they wanted to blame me again by saying I must have cracked it during transport: I challenged them - asking them, 'how was it being transported for it to break?' the answer was vague, so i retorted with 'do you have a phone that no one can carry around? I think that is very significant to let people know.' ; I received no reply.
I only ever keep my phone in my front pocket.
So I called up the call center and complained. I was informed by the call center to 'not worry' and they would take the case and 'take care of me'.
Today I received a phone call from Huawei with a new reason for how I broke my phone. Today's reason is that I 'pressed it'.
Yes, that is a true story, they claim that its out of warranty because I "pressed" my phone.

Of course, I asked back - what does that mean? Does it mean I press it when I type? Or when I hold it? Again, no reply on what type of 'pressing' makes an ink blot.
Very terrible experience with customer service.

I doubt they will take responsibility. If they do, I will correct the record and post it again here and change their ratings.
Either the screen they replaced for me is faulty or the person made a mistake while replacing the screen. Huawei customer service and their Srifuengfoong repair service wants to blame me for breaking the screen again. I do not accept.

The only thing is to replace my screen, that is the responsilibity of Huawei.

I have done nothing wrong with my screen and find this behavior from Huawei customer care irresponsible.
I am attaching a video of my screen ink blot and around my phone to show that it has never been scratched nor dropped since screen replacement.
I'm posting this so you know never to get a Huawei device in Thailand. If you're unlucky and get a bad piece like me, they will never take responsibility, and gaslight you/blame you for either shoddy repair or shoddy hardware.

THE WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!! IF YOU BUY THIS PHONE YOU WILL PAY ITS PRICE IN REPAIRS !!!! they will inform you that your device is under "full warranty" and "fixing and courier service is free of charge" and then find "water problems" and charge you ridiculous amounts of money for repairs and a bunch more for the courier. and will tell you : "its written in our online agreement" .. which is about a hundred pages long.. if you buy this phone be ready to pay its price in repairs :) they will make as much money as possible out of you

Bad Customer Service

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
P30 Pro 2nd fault. My P30 Pro was a great phone until the microphone and finger print sensor stopped working after 4 months. Customer service is a joke, it took nearly 2 weeks for them to send me a jiffy bag to send it to their authorised service centre, apparently they had run out. When it eventually arrived it was such poor quality that I wrapped and boxed it to make sure it arrived safely. The next problem was that the service centre claimed that it had been miss-used and wanted to charge me £298.93 for the repair. I disputed this with Huawei and eventually they agreed and it was repaired under warranty. 3 months later it developed another fault saying Sim card not installed, on contacting Huawei they won't even look at it because my warranty is now void and that the phone is beyond economical repair. How do they know this without seeing it? What a waste of £899, it's back to Samsung for me. Great phone until you have a problem, and they try to get out of their responsibility.
